How do I hire a court?

How much is court hire?

How do I access the court when I arrive?

If arriving for club organised socials, walk around to the clubhouse on the northern side by walking between the courts and Pottsville Oval. A volunteer there will be able to assist you.

If you have made a private court booking then, as above, walk around to the clubhouse. Once there, you will have been sent a code to open the key locker attached to the entry door (between the security grill).

Is equipment hire available?

Yes, though limited, and by prior arrangement.

Does my child need their own racquet for lessons?

 No, we have loan a racquet for your child’s initial lesson/s. But once your child has started lessons we encourage the child to have their own racquet. Our coaches can help you select the right size, weight and grip.

 Where are the courts located?

 Next to Pottsville Oval. 

Berkleys Lane, Pottsville Beach  NSW  2489 - off Coronation Avenue. Across the road from the Corner Stop Cafe.

Are there any toilet facilities at the courts?

Yes, there are separate male and female toilets. There are no change rooms or showers however.

Why is night court hire more expensive then day hire?

To cover the electricity cost of operating the court lighting at night-time.

What is the best way to get started at this club?

Probably to come along an organised club social, after first contacting the club advising you would be attending, so someone can welcome you.

What program is best for my child?

Each child is different in their motivation to play, their abilities and their concentration levels. One of our coaches will assess your child for FREE and choose the most suitable tennis program for your child.

How many courts are there?

There are 3 synthetic grass courts and 1 hard courts. All with LED lights

Can I hire a ball machine?

No

Do you run organised social tennis days?

Yes, on several days:

Monday          Ladies   All levels   7:30  – 9.30am

Tuesday          Men’s Mixed   All levels    6:30  – 8:30pm

Thursday        Ladies  All levels     7:30  – 10:00am

All standards and ages are welcome. You don't have to be a member - just turn up! 

Timings can be subject to seasonal changes.

What are the benefits of membership?

As an affiliated member of Tennis NSW, ALL members are registered via the Tennis NSW Registration Scheme.

Membership Benefits:

  • Membership of Tennis NSW / Tennis Australia

  • Reduced organised club social tennis fees

  • Reduced court hire fees

  • Paid access to the club’s ball machine. Not available to non-members

  • Eligibility to play in inter-club competitions

  • Participation in Club Championships

  • Attendance and voting at meetings and AGM

  • Player insurance cover including Personal Accident Cover wherever you play at a Tennis Australia affiliated club around Australia

How much does membership cost?

Annual membership fees commence 1st July each year.

Do you run mixed, men’s or women’s club competitions?

No. Not at the moment. The club relies on entering teams in the Tweed District Tennis Association competitions:

  • Women’s Tuesday competition

  • Mens/Mixed Thursday night competition.

Do you have a re-string service?

No

 How much does social tennis cost?

Does the club have a heat policy?

Yes, the club follows the national guidelines and will cancel or postpone play 38 degrees and over for adults and 36 degrees for children. At temperatures between 30 - 35 degrees cooling techniques should be employed including taking regular rest breaks and re-hydration.
